General terms and conditions of business

1. Contractual Relationship

​

For the events "THE MATTERHORN STORY," a contractual relationship exists between the ticket purchaser and Freilichtspiele Zermatt GmbH.

​

2. Ticket Orders / Sales

 

Tickets can be booked/purchased via our website www.freilichtspielezermatt.ch, by phone at +41(0)27 527 01 50, or at our box office. All reservations/bookings are binding. Reserved tickets must be collected no later than 60 minutes before the start of the performance.

​

3. Admission

​

The theater grounds open at 7:00 PM (1:30 PM on Sundays). The performance starts punctually at 7:30 PM (2:00 PM on Sundays). Latecomers will unfortunately not be admitted to the grandstand.

​

4. Ticket Returns and Exchanges

​

Returns or exchanges of tickets are generally not permitted. Ordered/reserved but uncollected tickets will be charged.

​

5. Cancellation / Discontinuation / Bad weather regulations
​

 

As long as the safety of the audience and performers is guaranteed, the organiser will endeavour to play the performance even in the event of rain and bad weather and points out that there may be delays to the start of the performance or interruptions.

 

You will receive information on the day of the performance as follows: online on the day of the performance from 1 pm (Thu-Sat) or 9 am (Sun) at the latest on our website at www.freilichtspielezermatt.ch

​

 

If a performance has to be cancelled after 45 minutes, it is deemed to have been played (no rebooking possible).

​

 

If performances are cancelled or have been performed for less than 45 minutes, all tickets will automatically be converted into vouchers and sent to all ticket holders by email within 24 hours. These vouchers generally contain all elements of the original ticket. The voucher codes can be used in th6e ticket shop

(www.freilichtspielezermatt.ch/tickets) as a means of payment for booking a ticket for another performance (including any reserve dates at the end of the season). This option is only possible as long as tickets are still available.

6. Refund in the event of cancellation of the event

​

A refund of the ticket price is generally excluded.

​

If no more tickets are available at the time of cancellation, the ticket price will be refunded.

​

For a refund, the tickets for the cancelled events must be sent or submitted by registered mail (date postmarked) in the original with your account details to the following address no later than 10 days after the cancellation of the performance in question:

Refunds will be made cashless to a bank or PC account to be specified by the customer. In the case of payments made by credit card, the amount will be refunded exclusively by means of a credit to the previously debited card. The processing fee will not be refunded.

 

 

After expiry of the specified period of 10 days, the claims against the Freilichtspiele Zermatt GmbH expire.

​

There are no claims for reimbursement against the organiser for any travel, catering and/or accommodation costs incurred.

​

 

If the meal or aperitif has already been consumed when the performance is cancelled, a new meal or a new aperitif can be booked for the new date for an additional charge.

 

7. Ticket Validity

 

Tickets are checked at the entrance. Only tickets purchased through official sales channels are valid. Tickets must be protected from damage. Copying, altering, or imitating tickets is prohibited and will be prosecuted.

 

8. Copyright

 

Audio, image, and/or video recordings during performances are prohibited for copyright reasons. Commercial recordings require prior written consent from the organizer. Violation may result in expulsion without compensation.

 

9. Print@Home Tickets

 

Print@home tickets are machine-scanned at entry. If the QR code or ticket number is unreadable, admission is denied without refund. The first holder of a Print@home ticket is granted entry; subsequent attempts are blocked. Tickets must not be copied or altered. They should be protected from dirt and damage.

 

10. Smoking Ban / Safety

 

Smoking is strictly prohibited in the grandstand area. Visitors may not bring items that could endanger others. Visitors must follow all safety instructions given by the organizer or its assistants before, during, and after the event. The organizer may deny entry or expel visitors who fail to comply.

 

11. Internet

 

Users accessing the Freilichtspiele Zermatt GmbH website agree to the terms below (subject to changes):

Freilichtspiele Zermatt GmbH is not liable for direct, indirect, or consequential damages related to website access or linked pages. No guarantee is provided for the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of information on www.freilichtspielezermatt.ch.

Freilichtspiele Zermatt GmbH is not responsible for transmission errors, technical faults, system failures, or illegal interference in IT systems.

The website information is for private and informational use only and may be changed without notice.

 

12. Liability

 

Freilichtspiele Zermatt GmbH accepts no liability for material, personal, or financial damages related to event organization and execution.

 

13. Clothing

 

The open-air theater takes place at 2,600 meters above sea level. Warm clothing, blankets, and rain protection are recommended (umbrellas are not allowed in the grandstand). The grandstand is uncovered.

 

14. Children

 

Children aged 10 and above are admitted as spectators. Children under 10 are not allowed for safety reasons.

 

15. Animals

 

Animals are not allowed on the theater grounds for safety reasons.

 
16. Severability Clause

 

The invalidity of individual provisions does not affect the validity of the entire terms and conditions. The organizer and ticket buyer agree to replace invalid provisions with legally effective ones that align with the intended purpose.

 

17. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

 

The contractual relationship is subject to Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from the contract is Bern, Switzerland.
